Chevrolet Camaro, la fameuse voiture du film Transformers qui a su voler des yeux et des coeurs grâce à son look agressif et à sa puissance, se trouve aujourd’hui encore une fois mise à jour. La nouvelle Camaro vient avec maintes nouveautés, la plus remarquable est le face lifting, les nouveaux phares LED et la nouvelle Calandre.

Au premier coup d’oeil, c’est ce qu’on remarque, le look américano-européen qui s’annonce pour la version 2019 de la Camaro. Toujours agressive, la voiture du continent américain a reçu un joli face lift, unique à elle, mais qui ramène le look plus vers le style européen du design qu’Américain. à l’avant donc, un large phare LED a été offert, une calandre plus grande qui permet l’entrée de plus d’air au moteur, et à l’arrière, les phares qui étaient en une seule pièce et un seul trait se transforment en phare à 3 éléments. La base est la même, la Camaro de 2018, donc il n’y a pas un grand changement au niveau des dimensions.

Côté motorisation, et ceci va décevoir les fans d’automobiles, puisque l’aire de la puissance brute commence à partir dans l’air, la Camaro vient maintenant avec un moteur à 4-cylindres. Ford a pris le premier pas à construire des petits moteurs, puissants et économique, et c’était une introduction surprise pour la Ford Mustng. Chevrolet se trouve aujourd’hui à la page au niveau économie et réduction de taille. Le nouveau né, appelé pack 1LE, est un 2.0 litre, qui produit 275 chevaux et un couple de 400 Nm. Il n’est pas seul dans sa mission puisque’il reçoit un boost d’un petit turbo compris dans ce pack. à ce moteur, on a raccordé une boîte manuelle à 6 vitesses. Par contre, Chevrolet n’a pas annoncé un changement de puissance pour le v6, il produit toujorus 355 chevaux et le v8 de la SS, il continuera à produire 455 chevaux, sauf une petite nouvelle, et cette fois aussi c’est sur les pas de Ford, la SS reçoit une boîte automatique de 10 vitesses. Pas d’annonces aussi pour La ZL1, elle aura toujours le 6.2L à 650 chevaux jusqu’à nouvel ordre.

La Camaro sera mise en vente à la fin de cette année, pas d’annonce du prix, il faudra attendre la mise en vente. Donc pour résumer, un style plus agressif, des phares plus larges, des LED’s, un calandre plus large, et un petit 4-cylindres sont les nouveautés actuelles.

In the American continent, competition is fierce between car makes to make the best of the best in muscle car terms. Ford makes the Mustang, then Dodge makes the Charger, and Chevrolet makes the Corvette and the Camaro, if one of them makes a special edition, then the other two will follow, and this goes on. Chevrolet, comes with a new version of the Chevrolet Camaro, calls it the ZL1, and it is just staggering.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was expected to produce 640 bhp and 640 lb.ft of torque from its LT4 6.2 supercharged V8 engine with tailored intake and exhaust system, instead, it makes more, 650 bhp and 650 lb.ft of torque (868 Nm). These number give it the title of the most powerful Camaro ever made. The engine is the same fitted to the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, but the Camaro is not capable of the same numbers. 0 to 60 takes 3.5 seconds, an improvement on the old Camaro. Doing the quarter mile take 11.4 seconds @127 mph, which is slower than both the Corvette Z06 and the Hellcat Dodge Challenger. The Camaro ZL1 comes with two gearbox options : either a 6-speed manual, capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in the first gear, or a 10-speed GM automatic gearbox. Yes, 10-speed, this new gearbox is made after a collaboration between Chevrolet and Ford collaboration, for the rear-while-drive vehicle, to make a new gearbox that allows quick shifts while the engine is at high regimes and high speeds. The 2017 Camaro ZL1 features 11 heat exchangers for optimal powertrain cooling.

The exterior design as you see is more aggressive. It took 100’s of hours in the wind-tunnel and on-track testing to validate the new design, and aerodynamic changes. The Camaro ZL1 comes with a new engine grille, that gives it not only a more aggressive look but also allows greater airflow. Engineers fitted a new carbon-fiber hood air extractor to pull heat from the engine compartment and to help reducing lift forces. In addition to that, the ZL1 comes with a new front bumper, whose air ducts are larger to allow better brakes’ cooling. More aggressive aerodynamic lines appear, to give the muscular look and to reduce drag on the surface.


The Chevrolet Corvette ZL1 is build on the Alpha plateform. It weights 200 pounds less than the predecessor, has more power, thus an improvement on the power-to-weight ratio. It has been fitted with new, more sophisticated systems. The Magnetic Ride Suspension was updated for a better, less uncomfortable driving experience. Also, it (ZL1) comes with a new electronic limited-slip differential, new custom launch control, and more track oriented driving modes. To guarantee a shorter braking distance (32 meters from 60 mph to 0), the ZL1 has Brembo brakes with six-piston monobloc front calipers and large 15.35-inch (390 mm) two-piece front rotors. The price to all this luxury comes at 63,000$.


Like every year, at The Pebble Beach Concours d’Élégance, car constructors race each other to bring the best models, with unique style, and of course, a lot of power.  This time, it is the turn to the Italian Icona, to bring a new model to the Supercars world. It is the Vulcano, and it is Titanium, and it is nothing less than exquisite to see.


The Icona Vulcano was originally designed in Italia, in Icona, a house of design in Torino. But the car itself, is not one bit Italian. Its chassis is the same one found in the C6 ZR1 Corvette. The engine is American made. The supercharged pushrod V8 is a 1957 Chevy Belair engine remake model. Origins of the car, may vary, the design is said to be Italian, some parts are done in Icona USA, and some parts are made in China, with all the care it deserves.


The Icona Vulcano was revealed two years ago, in the Pebble Beach, it was a non drivable concept then, with body made of aluminum alloy, red painted with accents of carbon fiber. The big evolution now, is that the body panel that were aluminum made are titanium made. This guarantees weight saving, and working at higher performance. There were no welding, no heat applied to the body, it was all hand-hammered. 8 people worked for 7 months, 1,000 hours to guarantee a perfectly hand-made 0.5mm thick titanium sheets. The result of using Titanium and Carbon-fiber to the body is a curb weight of 3,516 pounds.


The car is powered by supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V-8 Chevrolet ZR1 engine, that produces 670 bhp and 850 Nm of torques. And it is said to launch the car from stop to 100 kph in less than 3 seconds, some may say it is 2.8. It take it just 8.8 seconds to reach 200 kph. Top Speed will be around 335 kph. Samuael Chuffart, director of design at Icona, said that they thought about having the car powered by a Ferrari V12, eventually they let that option go. In the unveiling ceremony, at the 2013 Peeble Beach, power was announced to be around 950 bhp, but with further investigation, it has been lowered to 670, because, according to Chuffart : “people wanted practicality and driveability”. Lombardi, ex Ferrari team manager, helped design the engine. He also came up with the double-clutch paddle-shifted 6-speed gearbox. The engine is not the only feature from the ZR1, Lombardi brought suspension from its Chevrolet debuts, and modified it, to suit the car style.

There is no actual price tag on the car, but seeing the materials it is made of and the performance figure, we guess it will surpass the 1 million $.

With The International Auto Show in Paris starting, auto makers got crazy revealing all new models, with new techs and smaller engines that produce a huge amount of power, but there is one in particular that stood faithful to its traditions, the tradition of big muscle cars Chevy engines. The new Corvette is amongst us, and it is just impressive.


Tests have proven that this car is just crazy, with the right amount of power. Chevrolet claims that it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in jut 2.95 seconds and does the quarter mile in 10.95 seconds at a speed trap of 127 mph with an automatic 8-speed gearbox. However, with the manual 7-speed gearbox, it goes to 100 in 3.2 seconds and does the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds with the same top speed. This is impressive, but having a look on the engine, it is all understandable. In fact the new Corvette is powered by a supercharged LT4 6.2L V8 that delivers 650 bhp and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque, which is enough to go from stop to crazy world of speed in seconds. The engine block and cylinders are made from aluminium, A356T6 aluminium for the cylinders, and it is strong and heat resistant. It uses a Eaton TVS supercharger mounted on top of it (the engine). The LT4 uses forged pistons, titanium connecting roads and intake valves. It is then the most powerful Corvette ever made


On the outside, engineers used many materials to make the car lighter, and stronger in the same time. It has a carbon fiber roof and hood, composite floor panels, aluminium hydroformed frame for the doors. It is all similar to the C7 Stingray, these two models share a lot, but the corvette is more of a street car than a racer. The Corvette is wider, the rear is widened by 80 mm, 56 mm for the front. It has larger vents, to provide a better air flow for the engine, the brakes, and transmission. There is a convertible version to be expected. The car sits on larger Michelin summer-only Pilot Super Sport ZP tires to guarantee more grip. It has a new grille, that is larger, has larger brake-cooling intakes and wider outlets. It has a larger air intake vent, on the hood. The car uses three levels of aerodynamics packages :
Level 1 : it is the standard level one package, the car uses a front splitter, front wheels openings, a larger cooling vent, and a rear spoiler (it is taken from the 251 Performance package used on the Corvette Stingray)
Level 2 : sportier, it is the Carbon-fiber Aero-Package, it adds all the following in carbon-fiber : front splitter, plates, rocker panels, larger rear spoiler.
Level 3 : The performance package. It uses the same carbon fiber rocker panels from level two, has larger plates to the front splitter, with adjustable rear spoiler. GM says that this package has the greatest downforce levels.
In addition to all that, the car uses Brembo Performance brakes. 14,6 inches two-piece brakes rotors in the rear and 6 piston fixed calipers in the front should stop the car in no time, as a result, the car goes from 62 mph back to stop in just 99.6 ft (30 m)


The cabin is sporty, with sporty colors, red and black are used. Two seating choices are in offer : the GT seats, for a comfortable ride, or a competition for a more aggressive seating option. Both seats structure is made from magnesium, for a weight gain purpose. All the interior is fully wrapped with premium, soft-touch materials, such as, Napa leather, aluminium, carbon-fiber and sueded microfiber. Technological advance gadgets are present as well, like the Chevrolet Mylink system which allows you to connect your phone, and get it screened on an 8 inch screen, to get to your calls and texts.


Price, it is under 100k$, it is the most powerful car under 100k$ GM has ever made or tested, it will only cost 78,995$, but it is impressive in every way.
