Of course everyone was pleased with the Ferrari FF, it came with a new 4 by 4 technology, with well calculated power distribution according to the weight displacement, two gearboxes and two transfer boxes. Well, for a manufacturer such as Ferrari, moving from one point to another is a must, to keep at the top, with the new Ferrari F12 tdf announced, time has come to launch a new Ferrari FF.

First of all, the name FF is no longer, Ferrari prefers to come back to its roots, now, the FF is called, the GTC4 Lusso, as a tribute to the 330 GTC, a four-seater 330 GT, and the 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso, one of the best cars Ferrari ever made. The mad dog 6,3L V12 comes with more power and more torque. The new engine produces 681 bhp @8000 rpm instead of 651 bhp and a slight increase in torque : 700 Nm @5750 rpm instead of 680. The GTC4 Lusso races to 100 kph in just 3,4 seconds and tops at 335 kph. It weighs just 1790 kg and has a new weight distribution 47-53% front/rear.

On the outside, there are few modifications, the front headlamps have been reworked, the front grille is larger, new taillights, a rear diffuser and roof-mounted spoiler. The result is, the GT4 Lusso is more aerodynamically stable than the FF and has better air intake for the engine, thus the power upgrade. The interior feels spacey, more luxurious and quite a bit modern. The car still has 4 seats, with a bit more space, a middle screen, buttons, all the stuff from the future, but still feels a Ferrari.

The New FF, long be blessed its name, has the same 4-wheels steering that came in the Ferrari TDF, which will allow better steering and an improved driving experience. For now, it is just being teased, Ferrari says it will be revealed in the Geneva Auto Show with more details, and the pricing.

Earlier, Ferrari announced it is working on a more track-focused version of the Ferrari F12. And they said that the new model won’t be a replacement, but will be sold alongside the actual F12. People call it the Speciale, others prefer to use the GTO. So far Ferrari hasn’t said a word about the name. Now, thanks to Motor Authority there are some available spyshots of the testing mule.

As you can see, the new model has two front wings, a large three parts air intakes. On the hood, there are two air intakes, which is a new thing. That should work on cooling the engine, and giving a higher down force. The rear spoiler has been reworked. There is a separate part, maybe for a retractable rear wing. The car has a new rear diffuser. A carbon-fiber side skirt. The new aerodynamic package contributes to a higher downforce, but will reduce the top speed a little. Power is slightly increased, to 760 bhp, from the same 6,2L V12 engine. And there is a huge weight reduction, of 440 pounds (around 200 kg). Main enemy in visor is the Lamborghini Aventador LP-750 4 Superveloce. So far, Ferrari announces a 10 bhp more, and 100 kg less in weight. This should keep things going in competition between the two Italians.

ferrari-f12-specialeA rendering of what the next F12 “speciale” would look like.

This just in, Ferrari announced it is working on a more powerful, lighter Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. It won’t be a replacement model, as it will be sold alongside it, same as Ferrari did with the 458 and 458 Speciale. It will be sold in a limited number of units though.

The new F12, let’s call it F12 Speciale for now, until Ferrari decides of what the name should be, is going on a severe diet, in fact it is said that it will lose 200 kg (440 pounds) compared to the stock version. It is said also to have 30 more bhp to have a total power of 760 bhp of its 6.3L naturally aspirated V12. Racing from 0 to 100 kph will take 3.0 seconds or less. Ferrari will be aiming hypercar performance with this new model.

The car will be more “track focused” which means, no sound systems, no navigation systems, or carpets as a matter of fact, that is how serious Ferrari is taking their diet idea for cars. It is announced that it will be revealed in next March, in Geneva Motor Show, until then, we expect more spy shots of the testing mule, and more informations, maybe a video teaser.

What is better than an angry looking, angry revving, powerful Ferrari F12? Don’t look much, because the answer is a more powerful angrier looking Ferrari F12. In 2013, in the Frankfurt auto show, Mansory presented one of the mot powerful tuned Ferraris ever. The La Revoluzione : in English the Revolution, a road beast that devours every drop of fuel and makes it into raging power.

Mansory, who is no stranger to working with Ferraris, as they worked on the V12 599, V8 458, has once again struck hard, with an already powerful model, and gave it its own touch. A full red carbon-fiber body, that has the angry look of LaFerrari but the body of a Berlinetta. Mansory says they fitted the La Revoluzione with an inverse formula one nose to ensure the cooling of the engine, and a better aerodynamic air flow. A new front bumper was mounted with developed air intakes and a middle diffuser. The F12 was all striped from her body, and get offered a new skin, new body works, all in carbon-fiber body, available in red-carbon or the natural carbon-fiber color which is yet more aggressive.

The car gets its power from a twin-turbo 6.3-liter V12 engine that produces 1200 bhp (450 more than the F12) and 890 Nm of torque. This pushes the car from nada to 100 in just 2.9 seconds, and reaches 370 km/h as a top speed. The engine got upgraded compared to the old one, with bigger turbochargers and a specially designed exhaust system to create minimum back pressure.

As far as the wheels are concerned, Mansory fitted the car with 21 inches front wheels and 22 rear wheels. Both are newly designed with five triple spokes with Pirelli performance tyres. The car has new performance brakes, the front are slightly bigger though.

The La Revoluzione costs no less than 2 000 000 $, and is limited edition.

For the last five years, Ferrari has impressed everyone with the new models it produced, the California, The 458 Italia, The Ferrari FF, the Ferrari F12, the LaFerrari, Ferrari F458 Speciale, the California T, and all of them were harvesters of good rewards, world’s best car for the Ferrari 458 Italia, world’s most powerful V12 for the F12, winner of the LeMans series for the F458 GT3 and the titles go on, and with 7000 units sold a year, Ferrari is getting everyone satisfied. But what if the client wanted something for himself only, something unique, something that, whatever happens, he is sure, nobody else will possess?

2014_ferrari_f12_trs_00c-0630

Ferrari has the answer, a producing unit, just for custom made delivery, you dream it, Ferrari makes it. The name is SP or Special projects, and this is where all the SP’s came from, the SP America, the SP 1, the SP FFX… all of them unique, and really expensive. This year, Ferrari added a new toy to the Collection, an SP based on the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, and on the famous 250 Testa Rossa : The F12 TRS ( Testa Rossa Spider)

The Maranello factory made this custom-made car specially for a client who preferred to stay anonymous. The client insisted on one major detail, it has aspects from the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, and based on the Ferrari F12. The result Ferrari came up with was staggering, A Spider version of the F12, that is a reincarnation of the 250. First appearance was made in the “Cavalcade” tour, where Ferrari owners from around Italy meet and go for a smug-faced Italian rally. Engineers removed the top of the car, and instead installed  panoramic opaque windows. The front hood was inspired from the 250, and had a transparent glass mounted on it, it is useful to see part of the engine, and red carburetors. It kept the wind channeling aerobridges from the F12. The radiator grill was remodeled , and had now an aerodynamic lip in front. The rear diffuser shaped like a T was reworkd. The stern of the car now has 2 big bumps, like the ones of the 458 spider. All these changes were made, to give the car its unique look, and have a better wind resistance, it does not get close to the impressive 0.299 drag coefficient of the Ferrari F12.

Ferrari-F12-TRS-002

Under the hood, the F12 TRS kept the same engine as the F12, a 6.2 L V12 delivering 740 Bhp, the same 7 speed double clutch gearbox. 0 to 100 kph in 3.1 seconds, 0 to 200 in 8.1 seconds, car top speed was not revealed, but it is expected to do the same 340 kph as the base model. No one can speak of Ferrari, without F1 technology, that is why a new introduction to the car is the KERS system (Kinetic Energy Recovery System, which is  a system that recovers kinetic energy from a moving vehicle while under brakes. A technology introduced to the LaFerrari V12.

As far as weight loss is concerned, Ferrari did a great job, Already by removing the top, it gained a lot, but they went further, got rid of the glove compartment, any audio or stereo system, speakers, central air vents, rear benches, wind-up windows. The interior is now made of Carbon, Suede and Leather, to keep the car light, and luxurious. Carbon fiber was introduced to a lot of parts in the car, like body panels, to replace the heavy metal panels.

The F12 TRS can rest assured that only one model is made of his car, Ferrari even delivers the original quarter scale and full scale clay models. All this comes with a crazy figure in money : 3 million €, 2.5 million £, 4.2 million $, and for my friends from Tunisia, something around 6.6 million TnD. The equivalent price of 3 LaFerrari or 15 F12 Berlinetta. A good deal although, the Testa Rossa is sold for over 20 million €
