Infiniti, Nissan’s high class brand car, comes with a new model, the Q80 Inspiration. It gives a clear idea about the future of the brand, and its current position in the auto market. Presented as a concept today in the Paris Auto Show, it is not a car to joke around with, it is serious, to be in competition with the Europeans, such as Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, BMW… It is presented as a concept, but Infiniti confirm the production

It is powered by a hybrid powerunit, a thermal direct injection 3.0 V6 biturbo engine that produces 450 bhp, and an ion-lithium battery powered electric engine, that produces 1100 bhp, this makes a grand total of a 550 bhp and 750 Nm of torque. It has hooked to it, a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Two modes of transmission available, the driver can chose between rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive, depending on the roads, or his style of driving.

The Q80 has an innovative design, both in the inside or the outside. The car is 5.05m long, a few inches to catch the S class, but it is wider, 2.02m in width, and it is 1.38m high. It has 22 inches wheels. the body is a 4 doors fastback with antagonist opening doors, that is the mot catching feature about the car. In the inside, it is the future already, the driver has a HUD on the windshield, that shows constant informations about the car. The front passenger has a dedicated screen, to share information from hi smartphone, or any connectable device. Rear passengers can enjoy both space, and technology, it is spacious inside, and they each have a rear tactile screen. The car has an ambient lighting, either by LEDs or via the panoramic roof panel. High class materials were used in the interior such as carbon-fiber, aluminium, luxurious leather. The seats are comfortable, finished in leather and metal. The car seats only four persons.

The car has new technological systems to offer a better driving, such as but not limited to, advaced adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, Direct Response Hybrid, which is a system that helps manage fuel to get a staggering 5,5l/km fuel consumption and 129g/km CO2 emissions. This translates Infiniti’s theory on getting a semi-self-drivable cars in the future.
