When you want to stand on the top spot in the car world, you have to bring you AMG game. That is what Mercedes Benz did, it went fluid for some cars and really ugly for others. There is one however, that can mess with any other car you put in its way, it is the Mercedes AMG GT63 4 doors version of the AMG GT.

That is the outcome, a monster wearing 4 large wheels, with a large air vented smile, and a menacing look. That is what cars today lost, that aggressive menacing look, and that Mercedes is trying to keep today.

Under the bonnet, you will be finding a 630 bhp and 900 Nm engine, it is a 4-matic, so a computer will be going like crazy to know how much power he will transfer to each wheel at each second, which makes the 2-tons car travel from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The top speed is around 315 km/h. Power is transferred to the wheels via AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed sports transmission.

At the latest Paris Auto Show, Mercedes unveiled the Cabriolet version of the already mighty AMG GT, the car came with one aesthetic tweak : roof goes on and off, and power tweaks.

The engine, mounted on the new AMG models is the same, it is the same 4.OL engine, V8, two turbos, but instead of producing 460 bhp on the regular engine, power was increased to reach 550 bhp, and 680 Nm in torque. All this results in a 0 to 100 kph race in just .6 seconds and 310 kph. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7‑speed dual-clutch transmission. The car uses refined elements of the more powerful sister, the AMG GT R, the rear axle differential is electronically controlled, with limited slip, in addition to that, there is the rear-wheel steering feature. Combined together, the car has better stability and is more enjoyable to drive.

On the outside, resemblance to the AMG GT R continues, from the features : a wide body, large wheels, a large “butt” and everything grew large compared to the AMG GT. Also the GT C comes with a soft top, so you need to sit still while some pistons, electric motors do stuff and magic to get the roof on or off. And you know dear readers, that weight in cars matters, so instead of having a heavy hard top, Mercedes opted for a soft top version, materials used in construction were Magnesium, steel and Aluminum.

Price tag isn’t announced yet, production will start on 2017, with more detailed features about the car, and the AMG 50th anniversary

The last hypercar from Mercedes was the legendary Mercedes Benz CLK GTR. It was able of doing a lot, and cost a lot too. After the Belgian GP, from “a high level source at Mercedes AMG”, confirmation came to Top gear that the hypercar is coming. 2017 is the 50th birthday, so it could be a good project to mark the dates.

After The AMG GT, and the C63 AMG, Mercedes is allowing production to another car from AMG division, it is said to be a hypercar, with many F1 characteristics, especially for the engine, it could be powered by three electric engines and a thermal F1 engine, exactly the internal combustion engine that is powering the W07 Mercedes car. Coupled with MGU-H and MGU-K units, this engine produces 730 bhp.  AMG CEO confirmed that the car will be fighting against Porsche 918, Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1. About the body, it may be a monocoque, carbon-fiber body, with weight reduction to achieve power to weight ratio 1:1.

The body could be similar to Aston Martin and Red Bull fruit of collaboration the AM-RB 001 with more class, and more sensual touch from Mercedes. It could also feature Mercedes technologies like the magic body control, active body control, rear-wheel steering, and even newer. The revealing depends on how fast the minds at Stuttgart are working.

The car has a low slug front section, with a forward inclined radiator vertical-strats grille which give it a shark nose expression. After spending many an hour in the wind tunnel, testing, and being reshaped, the AMG GT R came with a aerodynamic, muscular aggressive profile. Front fenders were used for both weight reduction, and better aerodynamic results, it also gives the car 1.8 inch more in width. In the rear, it has a large rear diffuser, new aluminum side walls, which allow a 2.2 inches addition to the width. It has a new air spoiler, and for weight gain, a high grade carbon roof. Under the bonnet lays the power train of the AMG GT R, the 4.0L twin Turbocharged tweaked V8 engine, the same M176 engine put inside the standard GT, but with more tweaks, is able to reach the same power figure as the old 5.5L M157 engine. So now, the engine unleashes 585 bhp, has a crazy torque of 700 Nm. Standing start to 100 kph takes 3,6 seconds which the same as the GT S variant. Top speed will be around 320 kph. All this was achieved thanks to the AMG speedshift DCT 7-speed automatic transmission. Not only that, but the new turbochargers fitted to the engine, have now 0,15 bars more compared to the old ones. On the inside, the old seats were removed, and instead, AMG fitted its sport, manually adjustable, seats for light weight. They are covered in NAPPA leather, and DINAMICA microfibre components, guess that the tailors at Mercedes AMG know what luxury, and being suited up means. The car comes with new AMG Interiour night package. Elements such as the infotainment system, the Burmester Sound System and Climate control were kept despite trying to save weight. Then, we go the buttons, and settings. The new AMG GT R is the first ever Mercedes Benz to feature rear-axle steering : at low speeds, the rear wheels tend to turn opposite to the front wheels, to have a tighter turning circle, whereas, at high speed, the rear wheels turn parallel to the front wheels to gain on stability. In addition to that, the car has new ESP and Traction Control mode, that works in 9 modes, from wet to off. The driver can adjust dumpers according to three driving modes : comfort for city drive, Sport and Sport plus, for crazy, go fetch drive. Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Mercedes Benz‘s new born baby, The 2017 E Class. After many teasers, many spyshots, and news here and there on the Internet, Mercedes presented finally the newest E Class, and it the most sophisticated, the most intelligent, and I am not sure on the most beautiful.

As always, Mercedes put each of its new models on the throne of its class. Let’s talk engines first. The presented models, were both the E200 and the E220, presenting the all new Mercedes 4-cylinder engine. The E 200 4-cylinder produces up to 184 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, while the more efficient, more powerful diesel E 220 4 cylinder, produces up to 195 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. It has a staggering fuel consumption value of 3.9 L to the 100 km. The new 4-cylinder engines are more compact, smaller, with less space per cylinder. Still, it powerful, in both diesel and petrol engine, and efficient in both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Levels go up to 102 g per km, which is fascinating. Another new engine has been presented, and was fitted on the 350 e. It is a 2.0 Liter cylinder, coupled with an electric engine, and producing both up to 286 bhp and 550 Nm in torque. There are two 6-cylinder engines, one fitted on the E300 variant and the most powerful is for the E 400 4 matic. This engine can produce up to 333 bhp and a torque of 480 Nm, but this variant will be sold in Europe only. Of course, let us not forget the mighty AMG variants, The E63 AMG will be having a reworked version of the 4.0L engine fitted to the AMG GT, and C63 AMG, but it will produce around 600 bhp. All that thanks to reworks on the engine material, the turbos, the camshafts… All of these engines are equipped with a 9-gears tronic automatic transmission, as a standard feature. The new feature will be having a Speecshift AMG pack instead of the usual torque converter for all the models.

2017 Mercedes Benz E Class

As many of you noticed, the 2017 E Class, has a restructured face, new headlights, longer wheelbase, and a rear inspired from the S Class. These new “lines” give a direct idea to Mercedes new design philosophy. First of all, the E class is fitted with new Multibeam headlights that come with 84 independant LED bulbs. Road safety comes first, and Mercedes has been working quite hard on assuring the security of its cars, therefore, the new headlights turn towards the direction you’re headed to. Still, the car still has that impression of having the “4 eyes” a distinctive feature of the E class. Not only that, but the car new aggressive look is assured by a new revised grille, that comes with the tri-star in the middle. The new car lines improve the aerodynamics performance, the result is a staggering drag coefficient of 0.23. This improves the car road performance, and reduces overall fuel consumption.

011-2017-mercedes-e-class-interior-1

The most fascinating thing about the new E Class is the interior. Everyone talks about it. And it deserves a 6 star rating. It embodies Mercedes Benz philosophy, “The Best Or Nothing”. This is, so far, the best, most sophisticated interior I witnessed, and the new features it comes with, makes the E Class, once again, the best sedan to have. For everyone who got inside the car, the first noticeable thing is that, it looks like the S Class from the inside, it has the same guts, but a spirit of its own. The feature most expected is the the Remote Parking Pilot function, which allows you to park in or out the car using only your smartphone, so just a spin on a circle on your phone screen will have you guide your car, in or out of the parking spot. Not only that, but also, the E Class is fitted with a smarter steering wheel, with new touch control, which makes it feel like a smartphone. The E Class did not have just the same interior as the S Class but also, some of the technological features, such as the lane keeping assist, which maintains the car in the same driving line and the same distance from other cars at speeds close to 120 mph (200 kph). It comes with assisted steering, that notifies the driver when a danger on the road is coming, that detects its pulse, and vibrates in case, he sleeps. You can say that the E Class is not the best car to have a crash in, it just won’t let you, it has enough assistance systems, radars, sensors to make it one of the smartest and the most secure cars on the planet. For the driver’s well-being, the seats are fitted with a massage option, a better surround sound system, one of the best actually, it is the new second-generation Burmester 3D surround system. It comes with 23 speakers and two amplifiers for a total of 1540 watts. The car has an impressive sound isolation system, when inside you do not have to worry about the outside world’s noise. Screens replaced all the buttons, so it seems like the car is a huge smartphone.

There is no price put on such luxury. The car is amazing, it is expected to rock the automotive world. Once again, Mercedes Benz has taken a new step forward compared to each competitors.

Brabus Mercedes AMG GT Front

As usual, Brabus did its best to make one of Mercedes AMG flagships look the best, the finest, and let’s not forget, powerful. In fact, people at Brabus just revealed the new AMG GT S Brabus toy, fitted with the PowerXtra B40-600 plug-in module and the least that can be said about it, is ravishing.

Brabus AMG GT S

The AMG GT S had its old engine upgraded to produce now something close to 600 bhp, exactly, 591 bhp, and 750 Nm of torque. The new engine has a faster ignition timing, better fuel injection and higher turbocharger boost. Performance of the car improved quite well, the 0 to 100 kph takes now just 3,6 seconds, and top speed is announced to be around 325 kph. To have better engine performance, the GT S exhaust system has been replaced with a new titanium made exhaust system, that is also 40% lighter. The driver can adjust the sound between quite and crazy loud, it is according to its driving style.

Brabus AMG GT S Engine

Alterations were brought to the car looks, first of all, the B logo or the Mercedes Star. The Brabus GT S AMG has new air intakes, side air splitters, a rear air diffuser, and a new rear spoiler. The air diffuser, same as most of the car parts, are in carbon fiber, allowing the car to be lighter, thus to attain higher speeds.

When you think you can’t make a Mercedes car look any better, a car tuner comes up with an idea to make it look as monstrous, as aggressive, as possible. It is the turn to LUMMA Design to play with one this time. The kit applied is the LUMMA CLR G 800 The toy is the GLE and The result is staggering.

lumma-clr-g-800-is-the-lairiest-looking-gle63-coupe-conversion-yet_4

It is the GLE first time to get a widebody kit on the exterior. All the car used to have is a fine Mercedes Benz style, it was good looking, until LUMMA decided to mess things up. The first thing to be noticed, is the reduction in height. LUMMA lowered the suspensions, to acquire higher performance from the car. The tuning program features large air intakes on the front wings, a new front bumper, new side skirts and wider wheelarches. It also features a carbon hood, new rear bumper and diffuser and a rear spoiler. Not only that, but the car has in addition a Carbon-fiber hood. Knowing how heavy Mercedes-AMG cars can get, some weight reduction in the addition program just dictates itself. Carbon fiber was used in making the hood, the side skirts, the air vents, the rear air diffuser, and both of the bumpers. The car sits on 24-inch wheels from the dutch manufacturer Vredestein.

There is a power increase. The 5.5L biturbo V8 has been enhanced to produce 640 bhp, around 70 bhp more compared to the stock GLE 63 AMG coupe. This, along with the aero package, and the height reduction, should improve the top speed and the acceleration. Not that, the SUV from AMG does 0 to 100 kph in 4.2 seconds.

Modifications inside include a lightweight materials usage for some of the cars. Customers can choose between premium leather or wood variations to get the luxury they need.

The official release would be in the Frankfurt Auto Show this September, but with the teaser images, we are sure drooling about it.

3040442-slide-s-2-why-mercedess-self-driving-car-is-so

It has been a busy year with Mercedes-Benz, I mean the new S class, the C class, the Formula 1 world championship, the AMG GT, the CLS facelift. It was fruitful and for the German constructor, stopping while you are way ahead, is not an option. We all were astounded with the magic done with the S class safety systems, we all said that it is a new step for man toward self-drivable cars, well, here is one, revealed yesterday ( January 6th 2014) at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2015. Mercedes’ official YouTube channel has a video for us and it gives something like this :

Its name is the F 015 concept, or according to Mercedes’ philosophy, it is luxury in motion. What it looks like, it is that, the future of automobile is so close, you may even say that, the future is here. At a first sight, the vehicle doesn’t look like much of a car, yes it has 4 wheels, and 4 doors, but, there is that bonnet part, it is too short, with a very long wheel-base. Dimensions of the car are as follows, it’s 205.5 inches long, 79.4 inches wide, and 60 inches tall. The wheel-base is 142.1 inches which is 9.6 longer than the S class, which is long. The F 015 is streamlined, pointing towards the ground, has futuristic wheels, and a long light bar in the rear. The F 015 chassis is made from carbon-fiber, aluminium and strong steel. The body weighs 40 percent less than production cars nowadays.

3040442-slide-s-3-why-mercedess-self-driving-car-is-so

The car is commanded by a push of a button, or a finger swipe, to be more up to date with technology, and it comes to you like a puppy who wants to play, it approaches you softly, opens its doors for you and invites you in, the chairs turns for you, and some soft German automated female voice tells you to “Get in”. In addition to that, the car has road and pedestrian recognition systems, it has two different LED light indications, to tell whether the driver is driving or the car is doing it itself. When detecting a pedestrian, undulating lights on the grille indicate to him that F 015 detects them, then according to it, the car stops, draws a laser projected cross walk, and lets the driver know that he/she can cross the road in safety, using that same soft German female automated voice. It can indicate through panels to the driver behind it to slow down, “SLOW” or that it is braking “STOP”, as you know, Mercedes is all about security and crash avoidance. That is how futuristic it is.

The Luxury in Motion is for the individual who wants to retreat to a private place, relieving themselves of the stress and work involved with driving in the ever more hostile urban environment where driving is not enjoyable” according to Dieter Zetsche, chairman of Daimler and head of Mercedes cars.

In the interior, the saloon car, or moving conference room is really from the future, for starters, it is spacious, then there are screens all over the place. These screens are used to channel information between the driver or passengers and the car. Everyone now can take part in controlling the car, choice is offered in destination (of course), drive mode (relaxed or dynamic). The interior is white, with an ambient lighting, a soft blue generally. Chairs rotate easily, in a regular setting, they rotate 30° towards the door to allow a much more easier getting in or out of the car, people inside the car can opt for a more facing each other setting and rotate the luxurious chairs in that order. Doors open to 90° degrees, for a more comfortable get out/ get in. The car carpet is no more, instead of it, there is a hardwood floor, made of open-pore walnut wood. Of course, this car still has a steering wheel, to let the driver feel a bit of control over the car, it is Mercedes’ way to say, the human part is still needed.

Mercedes-Benz F015 - Luxury in Motion

Because the car can be controlled from any of the touchscreens, “any passenger can become the driver,” Dieter Zetsche.

What is powering this machine from the future? Mercedes said it would be an electric-drive system, a plug-in hybrid. 2 electric motors, possibly mounted one at each front wheel provide propulsion, the main generators would be a fuel-cell stack, hydrogen tank and lithium sulfate battery pack. Top speed will be around 70 mph.

This car, as smart, and future telling is, is not maybe suitable for us, big engine admirers, because car love is about that power, the noise, the design amongst other things.
